PB39th Ward

The baseball diamond at Little Gompers is a great place to watch a game but it is not a great place to play a game. Years of flooding has eroded the field and the surface needs to be redone. We're asking to redo the playing surface and dugouts at LG. Putting concrete slabs and new benches in the dugout will increase comfort for players by not having players standing in mud puddles that form in the dugout and get players filthy before they ever take the field. We'd also like to redo the playing surface to level it and put proper field mix on it which will greatly increase our league's ability to use the field after the inevitable Chicago spring rain showers. The field would be outfitted with anchors for the bases which are a higher quality and will decrease the amount of manual labor our all volunteer coaching staffs must do to prepare for games. We want Little Gompers to be a great place to watch and play games in the spring and summer!

Let's continue to promote our beautiful park system by supporting this upgrade. Let's get kids out to play on a a safer field. We are blessed to have such a wonder park as Gompers. We are also very fortunate to have the GPAA baseball and softball program which is volunteer run and community based. Providing this upgrade is a win for the neighborhood, a win for baseball fans, and the biggest win for our kids!
