I am proposing and open to options for a safer pedestrian crossing on Cicero and Hiawatha Ave. This is a 4 lane street with cars going North and South. There is a school where many families cross to get to. There are the Edens buildings on the West side where many pedestrians are getting of the Cicero bus going North and then trying to cross these 4 lanes to get to the offices. There is an immediate care center on the East side of the street and a funeral home on the West side. There are NO turn lanes. There is also a bus stop on the East and West side of the streets. There needs to be either a light, flashing lights, or a pedestrian refuge. This interesection is so congested and very dangerous. I see numerous kids crossing daily to go to school and cars are beeping at them, and not stopping while kids and their parents are sitting in the middle of the 4 lane street waiting for cars to stop. Something need to be done for everyone's safety. Thank you

I am requesting a mid avenue refuge, stop sign, stop light, or a blinking pedestrian crosswalk at the corner of Cicero and Hiawatha Ave. This is a 4 lane avenue with multiple businesses and bus stops on each side. As many of the older residents have moved on, there are a plethora of new families that have moved in on Cicero and LaCrosse Ave. There are many families that try to cross both in the morning and afternoon with their kids going to and from school. Many are stuck in the middle of the 4 lane avenue with no refuge and cars that do not stop! There is an immediate care on the east side and the edens bulidings on the west side of the street which bring many people including workers, migrants, and civilians to and from. There are bus stops on both the east and west side of the streets at this intersection. This is dangerous and people have been hit in this intersection. I propose some type of median refuge, stop sign, stop light, or blinking light crosswalk.
