Repair Bus Stop on Cicero Ave for ADA Accessibility
The paving at the bus stop at Cicero / Forest Glen is damaged beyond meeting CTA standards for wheelchair user access. The pedestrian waiting area is not protected from stormwater by curbs and the adjacent vegetation is often overgrown so that drivers of southbound buses cannot easily waiting riders. No ADA accessible routes are available from nearby houses or sidewalks.
This budget proposal is to add approx 50sq ft of concrete pavement to adequately define this bus stop. A standard CTA shelter here and new ADA accessible sidewalk to the intersection would be ideal but new paving at the bus stop is a crucial first step.
This proposal is being evaluated
This proposal had been previously rejected but is under reconsideration for Cycle 4.
