Traffic Mirror and Calming on Rosemont/Harding
The bend in the road that connects Rosemont and Harding creates a dangerous visibility issue. The adjacent railroad property turns the road at an angle that drivers often swerve to avoid traffic moving in the opposite direction, even if all drivers are moving at reasonable speeds. Alleys and driveways also connect near this awkward spot so parked cars contribute to visibility issues.
This budget item would cover a simple anti-collision traffic mirror and pole to be installed within the CDOT right-of-way to help drivers see oncoming traffic. Additional roadway striping, speed bumps, and traffic calming measures could be investigated in the long-term by CDOT but a durable mirror would be a cost-effective part of the solution today.
