Complete alley in the 6200 block of North Kirkwood Ave / Forest Glen Ave
The alley in the block of 6200 N Kirkwood / 6200 N Forest Glen comes in a few houses on either end but is not complete. Complete the alley so that it is an alley that goes all the way through and all residents of the blocks of 6200 N Kirkwood and 6200 N Forest Glen may use and enjoy it.

Not at all
Why are you opposed? Your side of Forest Glen already has an alley.

I do not endorse this proposal. I have been a resident on this block for 24 years. Not having a full alley has provided security for our homes, garages and a safe haven for children to play. I live on the paved portion of the alley and have witnessed multiple cars over the years attempt to drive at a high rate of speed down the alley. I believe that a full alley would allow for an increase in traffic and opportunity for crime. Perhaps our ward dollars would be better served improving streets in the neighborhood where we all can benefit.
I have been a resident of the block for 11 years. All of your concerns above are addressed by simply extending the alley about one to two city lot widths - about 30 feet to 60 feet). This would allow 4 homeowners who want an alley to have it. No cars would use the alley other than those additional 4 people. The children would still have their safe haven (though they also have backyards and front yards to play in). The cost would be much less than extending the alley the entire way. No cars would be able to drive all the way through (thus no speeding down the alley and no increase in traffic - though on this block I find it hard to believe someone would cut through the alley when it would be faster to use Kirkwood or Forest Glen). There would be no "opportunity for crime." Also, the four homeowners who would be getting the alley would no longer experience flooding in their backyards every time it rains. This is a good use of ward dollars.
Thanks so much for the clarification Mike. Yes, this makes a lot more sense. We support the extension.
We are opposed to this proposal and request to be involved in discussions regarding it before any decisions are made.
We are opposed to this proposal.
We too are opposed to extending the alley.
