Dog Park at West Legion Park, North of BrynMawr
This section of the park gets less bike traffic or foot traffic because it isn't directly connected to the bike path. A large section of the park could be designated 'dog offleash' without any further physical changes to the park other than signage. Many parks in New York City designate parks "off-leash" during certain times of the day. Signs that warn park-users that dogs may be off-leash would need to be posted at entryways to the park. Other limits could be considered if that is helpful to those who live nearby. An area of fenced dog park could also be created north of the playground area if residents are not comfortable with off-leash hours, but this would require extra costs.

This is a great idea. We need a dog park near this location . . . or in Peterson Park.
Dog parks typically require an active volunteer community group to manage it.
The idea of dogs being off-leash troubles me. There are a lot of kids in the park, bikers, walkers, other dogs on leash etc etc that could trigger an excited dog and cause anxiety or possibly injury. I'm a dog owner myself but I would not want this in our neighborhood.
