Dog Park at Gompers Park
Create dog park at Gompers park. This will give pet owners a place in our district to take their furry friends for exercise, socialize with other neighbors, and relieve spaces such as the tennis courts of unwanted pet droppings and dogs barking at passerbyers. Many other large community parks have this amenity, with so many pets in our neighborhood, this would be a great addition.

Would love more dog parks in the area. Need spaces with grass/trees, not just cement (like the one at River Park).

Dog parks typically require an active volunteer community group to manage it.
I think our neighbors would love to help manage this. There’s even a Facebook group for neighborhood pack walks that we can utilize as a start! :)
I am not currently a dog owner but have been a regular user of dog parks in the past. My dog needed more than walks. He needed to RUN and play with other dogs. Dog parks build community among dog owners. They make public parks safer because they bring more people throughout the day and evening. Also, dogs who get the exercise they need are quieter and more well-behaved! ;)
