Speed bumps in Forest Glen
Add speed control bumps on Catalpa and Balmoral avenues from the ongoing speeding traffic that comes from Cicero Ave and head’s westbound. This is an ongoing and unsafe problem that has caused great stress to the residents of Forest Glen. The through traffic are from people who do not live in our neighborhood and speed in excess of 40 mph and blow through stop signs. Pedestrians and children are in harms way.
This proposal is being evaluated
Only the 5000 block of Catalpa is eligible for speedbumps due to proximity to a school, park, or house of worship.

I can’t understand the logic here. We have speed bumps on a parkway that NEVER gets traffic ( Eden’s Pkwy),yet asking our alderman to support speed bumps on a street that is heavily, and may I say illegally, traveled on when Cicero is backed up which is the norm. What’s it going to take to get these installed, a tragedy? Perhaps contacting the media outlets in Chicago is our next step?
