Speed bumps in Forest Glen
Add speed control bumps on Catalpa and Balmoral avenues from the ongoing speeding traffic that comes from Cicero Ave and head’s westbound. This is an ongoing and unsafe problem that has caused great stress to the residents of Forest Glen. The through traffic are from people who do not live in our neighborhood and speed in excess of 40 mph and blow through stop signs. Pedestrians and children are in harms way.
This proposal is being evaluated
Only the 5000 block of Catalpa is eligible for speedbumps due to proximity to a school, park, or house of worship.

This is an extreme safety issue. Multiple cars fly down Catalpa to avoid the traffic on Cicero. Unfortunately, Catalpa is the first sidestreet that cars can turn on at the end of the expressway ramp. (even though there's a "no right turn from 3 to 6pm" sign). Those people who drive down catalpa go thru the stop signs and don't stop. This is very dangerous for everyone on the block (especially the many kids). There are speed bumps in areas of Forest Glen, and Sauganash that are nowhere near schools, parks or houses of worship.
This should be a pedestrian safety issue not a "location" issue. We would prefer not to wait for a serious injury to happen before something gets done.
