Speed bumps in Forest Glen
Add speed control bumps on Catalpa and Balmoral avenues from the ongoing speeding traffic that comes from Cicero Ave and head’s westbound. This is an ongoing and unsafe problem that has caused great stress to the residents of Forest Glen. The through traffic are from people who do not live in our neighborhood and speed in excess of 40 mph and blow through stop signs. Pedestrians and children are in harms way.
This proposal is being evaluated
Only the 5000 block of Catalpa is eligible for speedbumps due to proximity to a school, park, or house of worship.

I constantly see people speeding down Catalpa from Cicero and blowing stop signs in the neighborhood. They also turn down the streets when no turns are allowed and speed the wrong way through the alleys. Speed bumps and other traffic calming measures are highly needed in Forest Glen so people stop using the streets to speed and avoid traffic. There are too many young children and elderly people walking that could easily get hit by these drivers.
