Add Pickleball Court Striping within Peterson Park Tennis Facilities - Carry Forward project from Cycle 4
Pickleball is a rapidly growing game among various age groups and cost-effective adjustments to existing tennis courts are possible. The flexibility of use for both tennis and pickleball can be retained.
This proposal is to make changes to the tennis courts at the east end of Peterson Park to allow pickleball within the existing paved surface. Budgeting would be spent on court striping and moveable pickleball nets. One of the existing four tennis courts can be repainted to create two new pickleball courts.
More can be learned about pickleball court conversion at https://pickleballcentral.com/blog/hou-to-convert-tennis-courts-to-pcileball-courts. If the community would liek to make a permanent conversion to pickleball courts, this equipment can still be used.

This makes sense and is a very cost-effective proposal.
There are 4 tennis courts (side by side) at the Peterson Park location.
By using the space of only 1 of those tennis courts the community could have access to 2 or even 4 pickleball courts. Movable pickleball nets can be purchased for under $100.00.
I can respect that tennis players might oppose the idea for fear of losing access. However, by painting pickleball lines a different color, that one tennis court can be used by tennis players if need be.

I think this is great idea, that can benefit many neighbors.
