Modernize Logan Boulevard Skate Park
The current skatepark was built in 2007 to test the project's viability and community impact. The project was successful. The Phase 1 installation was built with modular, temporary steel/wooden features. This proposal requests funding for Phase 2, where existing modular features would be replaced with standardized, permanent, concrete construction.
Address:
2430 West Logan Boulevard
The Logan Boulevard Skatepark Renovation is essential for retaining the park and its benefits for users. It was designed in partnership with renowned skatepark designers/developers with input from Chicago residents to produce a representative public space that reflects the diversity and number of users it serves. In the ensuing years since Phase 1, the temporary features have deteriorated. The proposal will require an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Park District. Funding will come from a 40/40/20 framework: 40 percent from the Chicago Park District, 40 percent from state and local officials, and 20% through public and private sponsorships.

Love this project! Permanent, positive and sustainable addition to our neighborhood/city for all ages to enjoy and find a place to expand their horizons and bond with others.
amazing project! sustainable and permanent recreational space for individuals to gather and skill share. Let’s give all people with wheels a proper place to skate in logan square
Love this project! A long time coming! However, the voting process was a bit confusing- not sure if my vote was added or not! Hoping to see the skate park supported and available to everyone. Activity is incredibly beneficial to mental health along with having a sense of community.
I love this project. I have a couple of friends that have gotten hurt from all the pigeon poop. We desperately need a new and improved community skate park!
With zero opposition and an invaluable, positive, and decades-long proven impact, it offers low-cost recreational outlets for generations and supports free youth-driven spaces in a city lacking such -- this project needs to be completed. It is community-led and over 15 years in the making; investments are long overdue. I support this project.
I hope you are getting input on the modernization from the kids that actually use the park.
Bringing a bigger crowd to the Chicago skate scene by building a new park that is accessible year round will definitely benefit the future of our city and skate community! Companies and corporations that are nervous about putting money into skating will also benefit financially. With more 3rd parties wanted to come out and be apart of what Chicago has going on in its own City. Hopefully this park gets built and we can all grow together! -local city kid
