Pedestrian infrastructure will be improved on Division St. between Ashland Ave. and Wood St. This stretch has many businesses and other points of interest for pedestrians and safer crossing points would help all road users. Specifically, this proposal would improve pedestrian safety at the intersection of Division and Paulina by adding curb extensions at SE and NE corners and painting a new pedestrian crosswalk.

Reducing parking on Division ?? How is that helping? It merely creates more dangerous scenarios of 'vulture like' driver behavior circling the area - seeking parking (either illegal) or on the side streets (many of which are zoned and unavailable).
Solutions that reduce parking on commercial corridors like Division result in very unsavory and unintended outcomes.
More pedestrian crossings - YES! Please!
PLEASE add a stop sign at Division and Wood. Cars speed through the Ashland intersection and rarely stop for pedestrians crossing between Target/Starbucks. An easy fix.

I live at this intersection and fully support this. I feel nervous every time I cross the street as cars speed down the street with no intent on stopping for pedestrians in a crosswalk. Anything to make this intersection safer is a great idea.
