Pathway at North Monticello (Nature Play Space)
There is a separate proposal for a pathway from the west end of the Carmen river bridge to the north end of Monticello. This proposal would add a pathway from the north end of Monticello, where the existing sidewalk ends, behind the large concrete barriers, along the west edge of the nature play space and safely into the park. This area does not meet current CDOT standards and cannot be reconstructed without substantial street alterations. However, a safe walkway could be added at the north end to the entrance of the play space. The east side of the street here should also be signed for no parking, to prevent blocking the safe walkway to the park entrance and to ensure visibility for kids entering and leaving the park space. This area is a free for all of parked cars, which makes it tricky to even enter the park at all.
This proposal is being evaluated
This proposal had been previously rejected but is under reconsideration for Cycle 4.

The no-parking signs at the north end of Monticello are needed, particularly on the east side along the entire area of the park.
