New Divvy Station in NW Albany Park
The northwest part of Albany Park does not have a divvy station. There are stations to the South, Southwest, East and Northeast, but nothing in this area. The limit for drop off for dockless e-Bikes is just outside this area as well. This area is close to shopping (Mayfair Commons Lawrence/Pulaski and Jewel-Osco at Foster/Pulaski), parks and bike trails (Eugene Field Park), dedicated bike lanes (Lawrence) and bike routes (Central Park, Argyle, Ainslie), and heavily utilized transit (#81 Lawrence and #53 Pulaski bus routes). This would be a terrific last mile/half mile option and create additional options besides using cars. This is a very dense neighborhood, mixed income and diverse housing types (apartment, condo, single family), as well as retail, recreational and schools. This is a big gap in the Divvy system, which would serve an economically and ethnically diverse community.
This proposal has been rejected because:
Divvy Stations cannot be funded through PB. The Ward Office will work with Divvy on this request.
