Fund the Nature Play Space in Gompers Park
Help make the dream of bringing a Nature Play Space to Little Gompers come true! A Planning Committee was formed by interested community members 3 years ago to bring this new amenity to the park. Through hard work, the application was approved two years ago and a grant was awarded to start the process. Recently, the community came together to vote on the design and elements they would like to have included in it. Fundraising efforts have been ongoing, but more is needed to bring this amenity to its completion.
What is Nature Play and how does it benefit children? A Nature Play Space is a location where children can play in a more diverse and creative way. They are given the opportunity to engage in independent play activities where they create their own challenges, develop skills in problem-solving and teamwork while using imaginative play that is open-ended and unstructured. It also aids in the development of social skills, language and promotes physical development.
