Protected Bike Lanes Across the Diversey Bridge
Protected bike lanes across the Diversey Bridge, (similar to the ones that were recently installed on Damen) would close a big active transportation gap and would go a long way for connecting Logan Square to communities east of the river like Lakeview, Roscoe Village, and Lincoln Park. Lanes from Logan Blvd to Clybourn would be nice, but limiting them just to the bridge (Logan to Leavitt) would still be incredibly helpful. The Chicago River and I-94 are very real barriers for people outside of cars, and a crossing like this would help to alleviate some of the stress. West of the Diversey bridge, Logan Blvd and its access roads can get cyclists right into the heart of Logan Square. East of Diversey, the Lathrop Nature Trail, the Damen bike lanes, and Leavitt St. can distribute cyclists to low stress roads all over.
